Notes - Jan Van Vleckeren, Jr., b. perhaps between 1735 and 1740 in Dutchess Co., NY, d. in Fishkill, Dutchess Co; m. before 1758, Helena Bulsen. Jan, Jr. appears on the Fishkill tax list from 1772 to 1775 and from 1777 to 1779 (name listed as John Van Vlackere, Jun). John Van Vleckeren, Jun., witnessed the will of Benjamin Hasbrouck on Nov. 23, 1762. The "Jr." affixed to Jan's name suggests that his father was also Jan, but one cannot be certain of it, for nephews often used a Jr. to distinguish them from an uncle. Possibly the John Van Vleck listed as being an enlisted man in The Militia -Dutchess County - Second Regiment (Roberts: New York in the Revolution as Colony and State, 2nd ed., Albany, NY, 1898, pg. 138). Children:
Helena, bpt. 1758, probably d. young
Aron, b. 1759, probably d. young
Jannetje, bpt. 1761
Aron, bpt. 1763
Helena, bpt. 1766
