  !Born in eastern part of Penna. 1808 or earlier. Lived in Indiana County for 70 years. He was a good man and highly esteemed by all who knew him. Wife - Sarah - died 6 years before Joseph. He was father of 11 children - 6 still living 6-4-98. Died at home of a daughter, Mrs. Jacob Overdorff. This information gathered when visiting Indiana(Pa.) court house - and perhaps the historical society. !In the 1850 census Joseph was listed as Joseph ASH.
