  Margaret put her children into a Civil War Orphans' Home at 40th and Penn Aves., Pittsburgh (later an Episcopal Home), after the death of James Levi. In her later life she lived with her daughter Laura (Mrs. Charles Allen). Mabelle Maynard Swan remembers her wearing widow's weeds, with a pocket in her full black dress where she had pink and white peppermints. She also had pretty colored patches for doll clothes. Her funeral was held at her daughter Laura's house in Idlewood (Allegheny Co., Pa.) She is probably buried in an unmarked grave beside he husband, whose grave is marked with a white stone used for Civil War soldiers.
