Notes - John I. Van Vleckeren (Van Vlack) b. Jan. 15, 1785 in Fishkill, Dutchess Co., NY; m. Jan. 19 (or 29), 1804 (RDC, Fishkill, Rec.) or Feb. 17, 1803 (Pension Rec.) or 'about 1802' (JCN)to Elizabeth Wright; she b. June 22, 1782 (as per Alonso Van Vlack's [F56] ledger) or June 24 (JCN) in Dutchess Co., NY, d. 1862 (g.s.). Other source says possibly d. Dec. 1860; John d. Dec. 9, 1871, in Cambria Mills, Woodbridge Twp. Hillsdale Co., MI. Both bd. Divine Cemetery, Woodbridge Twp., MI. John served in the War of 1812. He may have been the John Van Vlack living in Fishkill in 1820 and listed in the 1820 Census as having a family of 1 male and 1 female between 26 and 45, 1 female between 16 and 26, and 1 female between 10 and 16. He and his wife purchased land from his father and later he and his father sold two parcels, one to John V. Storm and another to Bartholomew Strang (Dutchess Co. Deeds, Lib. 40, pp. 37, 51; Lib. 42, p. 427). They raised their children into adulthood in Fishkill and all were married there. Then, about 1838, at age 52, moved west to Cambria, Michigan Territory; then to Reading Twp., 3 mi. northeast of Reading, MI. He was a farmer. Children:
