Notes - Teunis Van Vleckeren, bpt. Aug. 3, 1718 RDC, NY, d. in Rombout, Fishkill, Dutchess Co., NY; m. May 3, 1747, Rachel Schut (RDC, Fishkill Rec.). On the marriage license, dated March 15, they are described as Teunis Van Flekkeren, b. on York Island (New York, NY), and Rachel Schut, b. at Poughkeepsie, both living at Fishkill. Teunis is probably the "Teunis Van Vlackren" listed as being an enlisted man in the Dutchess Co. Militia (Land Bounty Rights) Third Regiment in Roberts: New York in the Revolution as Colony and State, 2nd ed., Albany, NY, 1898, pg. 241. He is listed as a witness to Madame Catharyna Brett's will in 1763 and in it is mentioned as her tenant. Simon Schouten and Teunis were then living on a farm which the latter rented.
