  Roy married Clara Probert (April 6, 1890 - August 1938). He followed the photoengraving business all his life. He learned his trade in Pittsburgh, then migrated eventually to Dayton, Ohio, where he was connected with the Dayton Daily News; and when the owner of the News purchased a newspaper in Miami, Florida, he was sent there to install and operate the photoengraving department. Then in 1925 he made a deal with the paper to lease the engraving department and ran it as a separate business until 1960, when he retired. One child: Jayne Kathryn Allen, b. Feb. 10, 1916; married Richard Sledge. They had 2 children: Allen Sledge b. June 14, 1942 and Roberta Sledge b. July 15, 1945 Jayne later divorced R. Sledge and married Kenneth Johnson. She was living in San Francisco in 1963.
