Notes - Oscar L. Hancock, b. 1835, d. Aug. 2, 1912; m. Oct. 12, 1856 Mary Lane, she b. April 1, 1835, d. Feb. 21, 1901. Oscar was in the leather business as a clerk; in 1858 started in the harness business until he enlisted in the Civil War Nov. 30, 1863. He was a Civil War Veteran, 1st Lieut., Co. K, 27th Mich. Regt. After the Civil War, he was a grocer and a county truant officer. For 12-14 years before his death, he was an agent for the Board of Corrections and Charities, resigning Fall of 1911.
